Democrats feel Texas Senate District 21 is a safe district for them.
We need a *conservative Republican challenger* to the Laredo based incumbent Democrat currently not properly representing us in Senate District 21!
My name is Grant Rostig. I'm the only one working to get on the Republican primary ballot (as far as we know). It will be a major upset if we win, but by running we will be able to get our ideas and values into the local media, the debates, and other public events. This campaign will build for future successes.
Will you help me get out the word on these issues?
Small Government
Constitutional Government
Limiting Federal Power (10th Amendment)
Private Property Rights
Low Taxes
Business Friendly
Secure our Borders
Keep our Communities Safe
Right of Self Defense (2nd Amendment)
In 2006 I ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Congress in Texas' 25th District. In 2008, I attended the GOP state convention in Houston as an alternate delegate, and also the 2008 national convention in St. Paul, MN as a guest. In 2010, I ran for Caldwell County Commissioner. Like this SD-21 run, those races were also uphill battles for a Republican.
Having having worked for major corporations and operated businesses as both a computer programmer and as a doctor of chiropractic, I offer strong leadership skill to our run for the Senate. To find out more, look me up on facebook. I am 52, married for 22 years with no children, but we do keep animals and a vegetable garden.
I need your help to get on the ballot by gathering high quality signatures from registered voters.
~ Details on Gathering Signatures ~
Here is a form 2-3F PDF to gather signatures:
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-3f.pdf
It is best to print page one on legal sized paper so that people have enough space to write their information clearly. If necessary, you can select the "Shrink to Fit" option when you print it on letter size paper. Your local library should be able to print a legal sized PDF and make legal sized copies.
There are important instructions on page 2 of the PDF so print one copy of page two to read.
Please be sure to fill in (print in black or blue ink) all the English blanks with the following data! The Spanish blanks are optional unless you are reading the petition to people in Spanish.
1) Grant E. Rostig
2) State Senator District 21
3) Republican
Also, be sure to put your name (print in black or blue ink) on the top right of the form. The person who actually gets the signatures must put own their name on a their own forms.
I always read the whole statement to the person out loud to comply with the law. Basically they can't vote in the Democrat primary if they sign this petition (or attend any other third party convention).
Be sure the Notary fills in all the blanks on the bottom. You only need to notarize page 1, even if you got more than one page filled with signatures. The date of birth is important to help find the voter in the database, when all else fails.
Please send the original notarized forms to me by January 24 2012, the sooner the better! You probably should keep a photocopy for yourself.

To help me plan the effort of getting 500 plus signatures, I would appreciate progress reports on how many signatures you will get and when you will send the completed forms.
As a backup plan my campaign is also asking for political contributions to pay the $1200 filing fee in case I don't get the signatures we need. Corporations cannot contribute.
Thanks for any help you can offer in getting signatures or contributions. Don't hesitate to call me with comments or questions. With your help we can give the Democrat incumbent a run for her money and advocate conservative ideas to the voters.
Best Wishes
